RUSTY TAKES 53RD AT BRISTOL NIGHT RACE. If there ever was a time when Rusty's fans ever doubted him they have now shut up. He took the pole with a broken throttle, lead more than half the race, and collected his 9th victory at Bristol. His fourth win of the season boosts him above everybody else in the wins column as well as in the points. In an action-packed race where points leader Bobby Labonte struggled to a 15th place finish, Rusty gained points on him but remains in 5th. Good job 2 crew.

Rusty reveals name of the winning Pocono car. On an online chat at Nascar.com, Rusty confessed that the name of the winning car at Pocono would be Lightning and the winning Michigan car was named Mad Max.

Rusty takes 52nd win at Michigan, 3rd of season. Rusty just plain out had an awesome weekend qualifying 10th, leading over 100 laps, and collecting the Pepsi 400 for his 5th Michigan win. It all came down to the last pit stop when Robin Pemberton decided Rusty should take 4 tires when the rest of the top-4 took only right sides. When a caution came out with 17 to go Rusty was running third. When the race went back to green he passed Bobby Labonte and Ricky Rudd for good in two laps. Afterwards Rusty performed the polish victory lap and celebrated with his father in Vicory Lane. What a birthday present!
